W07 Lecture Reflection

Todays lecture explained briefly the principals of Project Two. Here are my conclusions gained from the lecture and reading the project brief (I will be updating this through the remainder of the semester as I progress and evolve through the project):

SCRIPT
A story is created as an underlying backdrop to the existence of your building.

REALITY: Realistic futures are considered and a believable context is created behind your design. Consider how you or a character would realistically live in this future context and behave within the site. (Achieved through Project One Assumptions and integrated into renderings and site explorations)

CREATIVITY: From the reality, a creative backstory in both a social context and environmental. (Achieved through storyboarding and implementation into "First Person Renders")

STAGE
A story is created as an underlying backdrop to the existence of your building.

PURPOSE: Meaningful spaces are to be proposed and explored. What purposes would be most advantageous for the community? (Achieved through Space planning and exploration of gaps in social facilitators)

NAVIGATION: Circulation through and around the space. How do people understand the spaces? How accessible is the space from outside the street? (Achieved through diagramming, wayfinding analysis and context renders)

INTEGRITY: How is the building constructed? What are the limitations of the structure? How are the structural elements represented? (Achieved through sectional analysis and detail drawings)

SCENES
Architectural settings to be proposed on the stage created.

PRESENCE & IDENTITY: Identity of the building on a physical and psychological level. How does it sit within the site? (Achieved through renders and context mapping)

FIRST-PERSON EXPERIENCE: How does the community fit within the space? What are the experiences throughout the site for a pedestrian? (Achieved through first person renders and blog communication

All are to be reflected within blog and presentation format.
