W05 Tutorial Reflection

So the consideration of an architectural solution to our future site came to several conclusions based on future scenarios. According to our research, education, health and construction would be the growing industries in the future of the time period we have chosen (2020 - 2040) (Australian Bureau of Statistics). We focused mainly on education and the potential for a "City Education". This is the suggestion that a specified school site is not required to learn. Alongside our virtual implications (see W04 Tutorial Reflection for People & Lifestyles), an interactive and interesting application of education could be implemented, where young adults have the opportunity to interact with those of all ages within the education field. You wouldn't be going to a regular classroom for Art, instead you would meet your teacher and your peers at GoMA for the class.

The interaction with different settings through the city, people and ideas gives an opportunity for growth, understand and respect amongst the community. We suggested that Paddington Central be an educational hub or "Padding Homeroom", where all ages of education would unite before dispersing through the city for more integral learning.

Building a sustainable future also involves a sustainable education in which professions are not lost in an ageing generation. They are celebrated and a part of everyday life. Those in kindergarten can see high school student learning, high school student can see university student realising their dreams and potentials. This provides a constant cycle of educational inspiration and regeneration.

Why make more farms if nobody knows how to harvest a crop. Why implement renewable energy if the next generation can't continue its good work.
